You can shoot a flower like this.
Or you can reposition yourself and capture this mirror effect, using a macro lens. Try to set up a similar flower in the background, and open your lens up. (Lower F stop) Try shooting closer to sunset or have someone hold up a black background.

For a close-up lens when none is available: Take your 50mm lens off the camera, turn it around and hold it to the camera's body opening. Since the focusing ring will not have any effect when doing this you will have to move back and forth until you are in focus. Using a lens this way will not give you an overall clear photo. Keep in mind the center of the photo will have the clearest of focus.

F Stops - You will find the F stops printed on your lens ring. It may start with 2.4, 2.8, or 3.9 depending on the type of lens you have. Changing the F stops will open and close your lens for more or less light. It determines the depth of field, how much of the photo will be in sharp focus. A lower number will open the lens all the way and give you less depth of field.

Shutter Speeds - These are usually located on top of the camera on a dial. Some will be from 1 sec. to 1/1000 of a sec., depending on the camera. If you use a high numbered setting you will stop action, a lower numbered setting will blur action. Anything below 1/60 of a sec. will need a tripod to balance the camera so your photo will not be blurred by movement. If you need more information, please email me.
